Few people will have an explosive career like that of Dennis Itumbi. He rose from total obscurity to a celeb-like kid around the block.
At just 35 years old, Mr. Dennis Itumbi did just that for being the “go to” man for William Ruto during the 2017 re-election campaign. Mr. Itumbi was the Jubilee Party’s most sought after Digital Strategist.
Mr. Itumbi was a close confidant of Deputy President William Ruto during the past election campaign where he accompanied him in both domestic and international trips. It has been widely reported that Mr. Itumbi even replaced all activities of president Uhuru Kenyatta with that of Ruto in his social media pages.
Considering that Mr. Itumbi was regarded as a respected presidential staffer, his actions of constantly attacking Super Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Interior Mr. Fred Matiangi and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations raised eye brows.
So misplaced was Dennis Itumbi that he had the guts to attack even Uhuru Kenyatta’s Principal Secretary Mr. Karanja Kibicho.
Consequently, this was a sign of naivete on him because the high ranking officials were appointed by the president of the Republic of Kenya himself. And therefore, an attack on these officials was inherently an attack on the president.
Apparently, Mr. Itumbi’s misdeeds did not go unnoticed as the the Jubilee Party machinery got tired of him. In mid March 2020, Jubilee leaders kicked him out of State House and then put up a statement in the media confirming that Dennis Itumbi was no longer a State House employee effective immediately.
