Dstv provides premium TV and internet services to Kenyans through out the country. While enjoying the services provided at your residence, business or work, it comes at the end of the month when you must pay for the services consumed. This is when you need the dstv paybill number in order to settle your bills as painlessly as possible in order to focus on other important aspects of your life.
Owned by the Multichoice Kenya Limited, Dstv makes it easy for their customers to not only remit payment for the services rendered, but also connect with the dstv customer service centre for any questions or concerns they may have. Their call centres are located in Nairobi but field phone calls from all regions of the country.
The most frequently asked question from Dstv customers are about the Dstv Paybill number. This is due to the fact that customers prefer to pay using their Mpesa accounts as it is convenient since they can pay from the comfort of their home, any time of the day.But how do you actually pay for Dstv services via Mpesa through the Dstv Paybill number?
Well, it is very simple. You need a mobile phone, a registered Mpesa account from Safaricom and your Dstv Smartcard number. You will need all this in order to make payment for your Dstv services.
How to pay for Dstv Services Using Mpesa and a Dstv Paybill number
The Dstv Paybill number is 444900. To make payment using your Mpesa account, please follow the following steps below:
- Go to the Sim menu on your phone, then select Safaricom
- Click on the MPESA command then click on Lipa na MPESA
- Select Pay bill
- Enter the DStv paybill number Kenya 444900
- Now, enter your smart card number. The number is at the bottom left of the card. (In 2017, DStv announced that payments should be made using your smart card number and not your account number)
- Key in the amount to pay. The amount depends on the package you are subscribed to
- Enter your MPESA pin
- Confirm the transaction, ensure the smart card number and the DStv paybill are correct then press ok
- MPESA will send you a confirmation text with a unique transaction code.
Alternatively, you can decide to pay using other means such as using a credit card or Paypal. This is usually the case for example if you are travelling abroad where Mpesa is unavailable and need to pay for TV services at home to avoid the interruption of services. In this case, there will be two options available that will ensure Dstv receives the payment on time as required.
It is worth noting that the Dstv paybill number is only needed to make mobile payments. The only thing you need to make payment using credit cards or Paypal is your SmartCard number, your last name or phone number used to subscribe to the Dstv Television services.
Payment Of Dstv Services Using Credit Cards
You can pay for the Dstv services using any of the international or local credit cards: MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discovery. It is worth to note that you will have problems with international credit cards issued abroad, particularly in North America.
In this case, you can register with other local payment providers. These local payment providers will accept payment and then remit such payment to Dstv or any other service providers on your behalf.
