A video has emerged online showing an Ena Coach bus ( with registration KCU 093F) swerving in and out of traffic. It is not clear where this happened, but it looks like it was on Kisii-Kisumu Road. The white 56- seater bus can be seen overtaking dangerously and nearly hits a petroleum hauling semi-trailer heading to the opposite direction. Scroll down to watch the videos available at the bottom of this page.
There are actually two videos showing the Ena Coach bus violating the traffic laws. In another video, the bus can be seen overtaking on the left by driving on the shoulder of the road. It looks like both videos were taken the same day, and on the same road since other vehicles with the same number plates can be seen on both videos.
For example, a Toyota Probox with registration number KDA 930C can be seen behind the Ena Coach bus on both videos. It looks like the videos were shot either in the early morning hours or later in the evening as it is a little bit darker and all vehicles have their headlights on.
This comes after an Ena Coach Bus was involved in a road accident a couple of months ago. On August 2020, an Ena Coach operating Nairobi-Kisii route was involved in an accident along Chepilat -Ikonge road at Kepkebe town. This was the morning bus that had left Nairobi before the accident occurred.
In that incidence, a few people were slightly injured but luckily, nobody lost their lives. In the photo, the bus could be seen overturned on the left side of the road near a tea plantation. Several civilian citizens can be seen helping injured passengers to get out of the wreckage of the bus before ambulance arrives to take injured ones to hospital.
Two weeks prior to that accident, an Ena Coach bus was involved in an accident in Nyamira town. The accident occured around 3 PM leading to the detention of the bus at the Nyamira Police Station for more than 5 hours as the police launched an investigation regarding the matter.
The bus in question was travelling from Nairobi to Kendu Bay before the accident occured.
Also, on January 17, 2020, three people were killed when an Ena Coach bus rammed into a Toyota Probox car on Keroka-Kisii Road at night at Kegati town. The bus was headed to Nairobi while the Probox was headed to Kegati town.
“The two vehicles collided at the entrance of Kegati Secondary School and three people were killed on the spot,” an eye witness said back then.
