Kipchumba Murkomen said yesterday that comparing deputy president William Ruto with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is the same thing as comparing heaven and hell. They couldn’t be more different from each other! The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator even dismissed Mr. Moi as being nothing but a political dwarf who used to be Mr. Murkomen’s student. The rivalry between Mr. Gideon Moi and deputy president William Ruto as well Moi vs Murkomen has been going on for a while now. The point of contention here is who is who in the greater Rift Valley and more importantly, who deserves the bragging rights of being the Kalenjin Kingpin?
One thing that people need to understand is that men learn from an early age to compete with one another. It is part of the Charles Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” theory where male animals will have to compete in order to win breeding rights among the fertile females. But for the human race, the ability to make money or show that they can provide to the women is what they have to proof before the lady can pay much attention to these men’s pursuits. One will ask, how is that related to some Kalenjin grown boys “pushing” each other around to show who is greatest?
Well, one thing to note is that Mr. Ruto, Mr. Murkomen and Mr. Moi all hail from the same tribe: the Kalenjin tribe. I will not wade into the different sub-tribes or clans within the larger tribe as this will make things more complicated than they really are. But it is worth to note that these men from the same tribe are competing amongest themselves in an attempt to win over the “lady”, or should I say the common voter. They are doing this in a dirty manner by undermining each other and trying to throw their opponents over the “cliff” as far as politics is concerned.

Gideon Moi, William Ruto and Kipchumba Murkomen: Who Is the Greatest?
At the Daily Post, we are going to analyze what is being said from all angles, what is factual and what is total bullshit, meant to inflate one party’s fragile ego against their adversaries. Just before we go any deeper, I want to shoot down Gideon Moi’s assertion that he is better than deputy president William Ruto. Why am I saying this? Well, records speak for themselves.
Gideon Moi’s highest achievement in his career has been only the position of a senator from Baringo County. While Mr. Ruto has been number two nationally by virtue of being the deputy president of the Republic of Kenya.Note that Mr. Gideon Moi is not even number two in his own “pool of water”, like I mean, Mr. bullshit Moi is not even a deputy governor within Baringo County! Learn to swim in a pool before trying to swim in shark infested deep (state) ocean. So with that we have Mr. Ruto 1, Mr. Moi -0 (negative zero!).
Now that we have disentangled the easy puzzle about Moi junior vs Mr. Arap Mashamba contest, let us bring Professor Kipchumba Murkomen into the ring. Even by the title itself says it all. Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen is a learned person. He has lectured at the University of Nairobi and other institutions of higher learning across the region. I did not bring this up when comparing Mr. Gideon Moi to Dr. Ruto just to protect Senator Moi’s ego. Psychologically, the under-performing Baringo senator may sink into inferiority complex when you compare his academic dwarfism with Dr. Ruto’s stellar achievement in the medular oblangata field. Mr. Arap Mashamba is even more educated than his boss, president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Senator Vs Senator: Is Kipchumba Murkomen > than Gideon Moi?
A short answer is hell, Yes! Being a senator from Elgeyo Marakwet, Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen has been active in vigorously defending his home turf against the dishonest Mount Kenya cartels who are hell bent on depriving non-Kikuyu inhabited regions of the well needed cash. If you were to grade the level of confidence among the two men, then one will say that Mr. Murkomen is more manly than senator Gideon Moi on all matters boardroom. I did not say bedroom, so no confusion here although people will make their own assumptions regarding that topic as well. But hey, Mr. Murkomen is a force to reckon with.
It is even safe to say that Kipchumba Murkomen is still a de facto majority leader in the senate. He is giving the Mount Kenya Block a run for their money (no pun intended) as far as the county revenue allocation formula vote is concerned. He has basically stuck his finger on Uhuru Kenyatta’s eyes with a level of impunity that has never been witnessed in Kenyan politics before. Mr. Murkomen has bigger “balls” in his pants than the junior senator Moi from Baringo!
Whereas Kipchumba Murkomen has not been in politics for that long, after all, he his only about 40 years old, Gideon Moi is approaching 60 years of age and has been in politics for the whole of his life. The reason why most political pundits think Gideon Moi is a failure is that he had a good head start by being a son of a former president who ruled for nearly a quarter of a century.
In fact, most well to do political analysts think Mr. Gideon Moi should be punching at Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta’s level on all matters politics as they are not only peers, but also have the same background: being raised as first sons of Kenya while their dads were at the helm. This makes Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen a better accomplished politician because he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never set foot at State House during his youngster years.

The Verdict Is In: Winners and Losers.
So after looking at the track record of all these Kalenjin heavy weights, we have unanimously concluded that Dr, William Ruto is the mightier one and his record accomplishment of rising against the deep state into number two in Kenya makes him the uncontested leader of the pack. Despite Gideon Moi’s barking, he is at the bottom of the pecking order as far as Rift Valley politics are concerned. Mr. Moi has an inflated ego and when you pull back the mask, he is an underachiever who failed to leverage the competitive advantage of being a president’s son to boost his own political ambitions. People will ask, where was Gideon when his father was president? Kenyans would like to see another president from the Moi family but I can categorically say, that is a tall order. William Ruto will be president before Gideon Moi can rise to even the level of a Baringo county governor, leave alone him being a head of state!
The number two position goes to Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen. When compared head to head with Gideon Moi, Mr. Murkomen carries the day. The question is this: If Mr. Gideon Moi is better than Kipchumba Murkomen, then why is he unable to defeat the latter in the senate. Particularly regarding the revenue allocation sharing formula? Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta and his Mount Kenya ‘thugs’ will be ecstatic if Senator Moi can walk the talk and bring down Kipchumba Murkomen’s total domination of the Kenyan senate.

When Kipchumba Murkomen says that Gideon Moi is not at the Elgeyo Marakwet senator’s level, that is actually true. Mr. Murkomen is a rising star in the Kenyan politics and it is safe to say that Kenya will benefit tremendously from the young senator’s contribution, particular for standing up to the bullies from the Mount Kenya region who have historically marginalized other regions of this great country.
